Setting up a Google Business Profile (GBP) is one of the easiest ways to get your company found online, especially by local customers searching on Google Maps and Search.
By following the steps below, you can create a verified listing that showcases your services, contact details, and photos to help people discover and trust your business.
Create your Google Business Profile
- Go to the Google Business Dashboard
Visit business.google.com and sign in with the Google account you want to own the profile. - Start a new business
Click Add business, then Add single business. - Enter your business name
Type your official business name. If a matching business appears, choose it to claim. If not, click Create a business with this name. - Choose a primary category
Start typing to see options. Pick the closest fit. You can add secondary categories after setup.
- Choose location type
- Storefront or office that customers visit: select Yes and enter your street address.
- Service-area business: select No, then add cities or ZIP codes you serve. Do not enter a home address if customers do not visit.
- Add contact info
Enter a phone number and website URL. If you do not have a site, you can skip this or add it later. - Finish the basic setup
Confirm the info and click Continue to move to verification.
Verification for your Google Business Profile
- Choose a verification method
Google will offer one or more options based on risk signals and your category: phone, text, email, video recording, live video call, or postcard to your address. - Complete the verification steps
- Phone, text, or email: enter the code you received.
- Postcard: when it arrives, log back in and enter the code.
- Video: follow the prompts to show signage, tools, vehicle branding, or workspace.
- If you are asked for more proof
Provide utility bills, business registration, or photos that show real-world presence. Use clear images that match your business name and address.
